1974 was an era which saw “the Russian wheat deal” come into full swing this and the closing of mills large and small as a result of over capacity in the industry. In 1974 our first bags of whole wheat flour were sold. 1986 Log City Milling became the smallest United States Warehouse License hold with 15,000 bushels of store. Later that year we added 120,000 bushels of storage to bring our total storage to 135,000 bushels. Two years later we start milling 20 tons of flour per day in addition to our “Super Cleaned” wheat (4 tons per hour) and Flaked wheat (4 tons per hour) made for the breakfast cereal industry. 1994 brings another 170,000 bushels of storage, giving Log City Milling the capability to store approximately 300,000 bushels. This storage gives us capability of insuring the quality of the wheat which we originate from farmers in our region of New York’s Finger Lakes.
